The Recruit's Depot is owned and operated by Shane Miller. Shane first visited Parris Island in 1995 to attend her husband's graduation. A Charleston native, Shane had often visited Beaufort, but that 1995 trip served as her introduction to both Parris Island and the Marine Corps. Following his Parris Island graduation, Shane's husband travelled to Camp Geiger to attend the School of Infantry (SOI). While there, Private First Class (PFC) Miller made his marriage proposal to Shane on one of her many weekend visits, and her acceptance began a new chapter in their lives.

Today, Shane resides in Beaufort, South Carolina with her husband and 5 year old son. She opened The Recruit's Depot in June of 2007 as a vehicle for honoring and helping the men and women who make Parris Island and the Marine Corps.

The Recruit's Depot's mission is twofold: 1) to provide the best products and service to our customers at the lowest prices possible and 2) to support our drill instructors by covering some of their out of pocket expenses. We take great pride in our company, our commitment to customer service and our Marine Corps Drill Instructors, and in the products we sell. Today, we've successfully completed 20 Marine Corps Drill Instructor hat plaques for presentation to Parris Island's Commanding General!  The Commanding General will be able to distribute these plaques to Drill Instructors to unburden them of some of these high out-of-pocket costs.
